The BDT Ensembles, a premium opportunity for advanced students, is one of the highlights of our school. There are four performance ensembles and a dance ministry company in resident at the school. The ensembles and dance ministry company demand excellence from its participants, who must demonstrate a commitment to dance and a willingness to work as a member of a professionally run ensemble. During the past dance season, members of our performance ensembles and dance ministry company danced before a record-breaking audience of 7,599 people between August 2003 and June 2004. The venues included Maryland Hall, the Dorothy P. Stanley Scholarship Concert at Morgan State University, the City Nutcracker, Mercersburg Academy (PA), The Baltimore Museum of Art, Theater Project, Morris A. Mechanic Theater, Publik Playhouse, Johns Hopkins University, Artscape, outreach performances at various schools and churches, and our anniversary concert. Membership is by audition.
